For the past couple days my serger has not been working. I thought if I totally cut the treads and re-threaded it everything would be okay. Well, after threading it like 20 times (I'm totally not joking) and talking to Singer Customer support for 45 minutes, I still cannot get it to work! It just jams up the second I start to stitch. I am sooo frustrated! I finally came to grips with taking it for repair and called the two closest singer repair shops. Well, there is only ONE guy that services them and he picks up on thursdays and already came today. How am I possibly going to go a whole week before I can even take it in to be looked at! And it's going to cost at least half the cost of what I payed for it...argh!! I'm sooo frustrated (did I already say that). And I have this sinking feeling that it was my own sweet baby girl that messed it up (since the tension dials were changed). I have a spare sewing machine, but no spare serger! I think I'll go have a pity party now...boohoo.
I promise the next post won't be so depressing.

cry-it will make you feel better.
or have some chocolate.
I just got a serger and I have no idea how to work it. The buttons on the top totally confuse me and it didn't come with a manual. But I really want to use it! Argh... Off to ebay I go.
I am so sorry!
Step away for a couple of days and then play with the tension knobs a little and try to rethread it one last time. Sometimes when we have a clear head we are able to think of something else to try.
And if you do need to take it to the repairman I hope that it is quick and as inexpensive as possible.
I am so sorry! That kind of thing drives me crazy! I can't imagine re- threading a serger, I have enough problems with my sewing machine!
I'm soooo sorry, it is so frustrating when the appliances that we depend on almost daily don't function the way they are supposed to. Good Luck!
Oh no! I don't have a serger so I'm not help there. If it makes you feel better my embroidery machine is on the fritz and it's in for repairs. I'm borrowing my mother-in-law's for now and it DRIVES ME CRAZY. There's something wrong with the bobbin so every 30 seconds or so I have to take it out and fix it.
That is frustrating - I bet you feel the way I feel when I don't have a camera...
:( so sorry
I feel so bad for you! I don't know what I would do without my machines, since I sew almost daily. My 2 year old daughter is always messing with my tension settings on both my machines, and I always get scared that she's going to mess them up, so now I'm going to have to rig something to keep her little hands away from them.
I'm hoping that maybe taking a step back and trying one last time will fix your serger, and if not... hopefully the repair man takes pity and doesn't charge too much.
I have a love hate relationship with my serger...when it works right I LOVE it but when it doesn't we dont get along very well. I hope that it will just work for you later on...sometimes mine does that :)
On my old serger, I set the tension where I "normally" needed it and marked all the dials with a permanent marker... just a little dot by the number.
I need to do it with my new one. 'Cause I having the same problem with it as you are! And I can think of two sets of little fingers that LURVE fiddling.
Glad I am not the only one who has sat and re-threaded the blasted thing dozens of times to no avail. (I thought it was just me!)
I felt that a similar way when my sewing machine wasn't working! Good luck and I hope a miracle happens!!!
I am so sorry. I was wanting to get a serger, maybe now I'll wait a bit.
hopefully the repair man takes pity and doesn't charge too much.
