My grandma Hatch passed away this month. She lived to be 88 years old. She was an AMAZING woman!!! She was talented in soooo many ways, including sewing and presenting a beautiful meal. Even if we were just eating cereal and milk, it was always presented in style (not something I inherited from her). She was outgoing and social, kind and loving. She was witty and always ready to crack a joke....or sing a song, which is something she did often! I was able to go out west for her funeral. It was so nice to be with my mom and family I haven't seen for a long time. While I was there, my mom gave me the quilt that I made for my grandma a few years ago. I'm glad that I got it back and can keep it as a memory of her. My grandma also LOVED jewelry. I was able to pick out a few of her necklaces and earrings. I love how large and demanding of attention her jewelry was...again, definitely not something I inherited from her (there are actually many other things that we do have in common). Anyway, I'm so happy to have a few things that can remind me of her. I actually have a few ideas of incorporating some of these beautiful earrings into some craftiness...you'll have to wait and see!

Great post and I think that's amazing she lived to be 88. I'm so inspired by people like her!
Can't wait to see what you do with her beautiful jewelry.
What a beautiful quilt. :) You can tell she loved it! How nice that you can keep it to remember her by.
Wow! I had no idea you quilted. That's a beautiful quilt for Grandma. Glad you got it back too. I admit, I'm a bit jealous about the jewelry...
