Trying new things

I haven't sewn any clothing for myself EVER! I really want to, but I guess I'm just intimidated by it. I tried making this skirt out of shear desperation. I have a confession, some of you may already know this....I hate skirts!! Yes, it's true...I despise them! Okay, I guess I'm being a little too dramatic, but I really, REALLY don't like skirts/dresses on me! I love them for my little girl and every other woman on the planet, but I HATE wearing them! I always have and I'm pretty sure I always will (sorry Mary, it's true). So, after years of hating skirts, I thought I would try making one that I didn't hate. And did I do it? Well, not exactly. It's definitely comfortable, which I like, but not exactly flattering...oh well. It cost about $2, so the price was right. I tried the flower technique that I've been seeing everywhere also (okay, I wanted to link the flower idea to a blog, but now I can't find it anywhere...sorry). For my first skirt, it's not too bad, but I've got some ideas for the next one. Maybe if I keep trying to make new skirts, I'll eventually come up with one I like....ummm, probably not :)

That turned out very cute! I love the flowers. We can still be friends, even if you don't love wearing skirts :)

I'm with ya on the skirt thing. I keep trying to wear one. Just not comfy at this stage in life. I won't give up!
